IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Why use Waters Edge – How are we different?
We are a small family owned company with years of experience in the field of tree and shrub care. We have a ‘hands on’ mindset so you will have direct interaction with the owners of the company and see them working on your property. We understand the importance of customer service and communication and strive to exceed your expectations in these areas. The importance of building relationships with our clients is very important to us. We take pride and a sense of ownership on the properties under our care.
  • What is Specialty Pruning?
Our Specialty Pruning is focused on your ornamental trees and shrubs. Typically trees and shrubs 15 feet in height and less. Different types of trees and shrubs require different types of pruning at varied times throughout the year. With our expertise and attention to detail, we focus primarily on the use of hand tools which allows us to be more accurate and precise in our pruning cuts and techniques.
  • I understand Tree Care can be expensive.  What does your Specialty Pruning Cost?
Although properties and plants within the landscapes will vary, we charge a flat rate of $165.00 per hour for our two person crew. If a third crew member is needed to accomplish the work, the rate will be $195.00 per hour. This rate includes travel to and from your home and the necessary time on site needed to complete the work. There may be minimal disposal costs as well.
  • I am not familiar with the term Plant Health Care.  What does it mean and when would I need it?
The goal of Plant Health Care is to keep your trees and shrubs healthy and happy in the environment in which they grow. Issues such as insects, diseases, soil nutrient deficiencies and environmental factors can negatively impact plant health. At Waters Edge, we have programs that are crafted to address the issues your plants may be experiencing and also have the ability to be proactive and treat before problems occur. Although reacting to common pest outbreaks is a part of our business, staying ahead of the game by preventatively addressing issues is the key to a healthy landscape and enhancing the beauty of your property.
  • What is a Certified Arborist and why do I need to work with one?
An ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) Certified Arborist is a person who has voluntarily taken and passed a comprehensive exam in the field of arboriculture. They demonstrate the knowledge and skills to properly care for trees with a high level of dedication to their profession and community. Ongoing education and training are required to maintain the credential and only a small percentage of tree care companies employ Certified Arborists.
  • Do you provide Landscaping or Design/Install services?
We typically do Not provide these types of services which include Mowing, Mulching, Lawn treatments and Design or Installation of plant material. We know our areas of expertise and concentrate our efforts in those areas. We have a great relationship with professional partners in our industry who we would be glad to refer.
  • Can you work with my existing Tree Service, Landscape and Lawn care company?"
Absolutely. We regularly work with these types of companies since our services very rarely overlap. We can complement the services they provide to fully care for your landscape.
  • Do you Remove trees or Prune large trees?

  • Do you have the ability to Treat larger trees?
We absolutely can diagnose and treat large tree issues. This is a major part of our business. With advances in our field, we are able to provide treatments for pests and diseases that can be applied to the soil or the bark of the tree and then taken up into the canopy systemically. We also have treatments to enhance the root systems of more mature trees to aid in their overall health and enhance their longevity.
  • How will I know when the work will be completed?
We truly understand the importance of communication throughout the entire process of working with you. In some instances, related to our specialty pruning, we may ask that you are home near the end of the job to give us your approval before we depart. This allows us to make any adjustments to suit your needs and eliminates the cost of a return trip. You would be informed ahead of time if this is the case.
